New Location and Registration Fee
The TEEX Leadership Symposium has long been a cornerstone professional development opportunity for fire service leaders across Texas and beyond. Looking ahead, TEEX is excited to announce a new host location for the 2027 Leadership Symposium in The Woodlands, Texas. This addition expands access to a broader audience while enhancing the overall attendee experience. The Symposium will continue its established rotation, returning to Frisco in 2028 and San Marcos in 2029, with The Woodlands being considered as a permanent third host city moving forward. This thoughtful rotation ensures geographic accessibility while maintaining the high-quality facilities and regional engagement that participants have come to expect.
For many years, the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service® (TEEX) has remained committed to making this high-quality training as accessible as possible. With generous support from partners such as Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, ARCTIC Compressors, and other valued sponsors, TEEX has absorbed more than $200,000 in event-related expenses annually. These contributions have allowed the Symposium to operate with minimal cost to participants while maintaining a high standard of instruction, facilities, and overall attendee experience.
As the Symposium continues to grow in both scale and demand, the costs associated with delivering this level of excellence—including facilities, logistics, instructional support, and technology—have also increased. To ensure the long-term sustainability of the program while preserving its quality, the agency has made the difficult but necessary decision to implement a modest attendee registration fee. Beginning this year, the fee will be set at $150 for in-state participants and $250 for out-of-state attendees. This adjustment helps offset a portion of the rising expenses while still keeping the Symposium highly affordable compared to similar national-level events.
